SUCCESSFULLY SKEWED
ARTISTIC INSIGHT
How successful are you? What's your definition of success? Mankind believes they are evolving into a greater and masterful species but the track record of what success means to mankind is the opposite of what it means to evolve. In fact, due to how mankind views and values success seems to indicate how de-evolving we humans have become.
At one point in time it was about where one work, how much money they made, what name brand clothing they wore, what type of car they had, what neighborhood they lived in - All of that superficial and shallow sentiments is true, but there seems to be another gauge on how 'successful' one can be. That gauge is derived from social media and how many 'likes', 'followers', 'fans', and 'views' a person has. It's gotten to the asinine point that people will do most anything just to get noticed or get more views or get more followers or receive more likes. To this generation that is success and it is a success that is awfully skewed.
It is a success that preys on the shallow, superficial and feeble-minded of our society. It festers in the great desire and need to be someone or somebody in our faceless society. Having this particular kind of success gives those with an one-dimensional view of this world, a face. It gives them a face, a name, a brand that they can proudly display to all the world. They want the world to look upon them as having and being successful and in their one-dimensional, feeble-minded life, they have. Regardless on how it was acquired, they have success and that's all that matters. Is this the evolution of 'success' or is it just another mental-play on those minds and mentalities that would follow it? Is this what has become of our society? Our world? To have certain achievements and goals be skewed in order to fit a pop-culture and shallow quota?
There has to be another way success can be achieved based on the merits of hard work, intellect, honesty, diplomatically and by talent. Those and that kind of success can never by skewed because it is built on an everlasting foundation.
