In Paris in 1895 at the Grand Cafe, two brothers, Auguste & Louis Lumiere premiered the first ever moving pictures. From there evolved the art of cinematography, movie making and film. From that inception evolved different techniques, trades, crafts and methods of projecting and exhibiting moving pictures and part of that growth was the incorporation of film into the live theatrical experience. ILLUSION THEATRE is where I perform different magical effects derived from the masters of old.
Are the powers of superheroes and super villains intertwined with magic? Being able to have psychic ability, being able to sense and read minds, possessing superhuman strength, or even being chosen or selected to wield great power and great responsibility - Are those the traits of a superhero, -OR- could it also be the mystic and mysterious powers of a magician?
This ILLUSION THEATRE is called 'MAGIC & SUPERHEROES' and it delves and demonstrates that always unattainable, mythic and mysterious powers of being a magician, OR a superhero!! Created by - James D. Watkins. Produced by: ODYSSEY WORKS, ECLIPSE ENTERPRISES, PHOENIX PRODUCTIONS & ILLUSION THEATRE.
ILLUSION THEATRE - MAGIC & SUPERHEROES - Next performances below: Due to a conflict and double booking of the performance space in HOUSTON, TEXAS, the September 9, 2026 performances of 'ILLUSION THEATRE: MAGIC & SUPERHEROES' has been postponed and I, James D. Watkins want to sincerely apologize to those Houston residents who had expressed interest in attending these performances in their city but I was completely blindsided by this double booking error. It will be rescheduled and once it has been determined then ALL marketing and ads will provide the new show dates, times and exact locations. THANK-YOU!
